Massage Oil
The Ingredients required are as :
1 quart oil (from list)
4 to 8 drops essential oil (optional)
1 ounce herbs (from list)
Oils
Oil can be of Corn, safflower, soy, olive, peanut, apricot kernel, almond, avocado or walnut, or any combination
Herbs
Herbs depends on the skin type and use are as :
For dry skin: Alfalfa, rose, chamomile
For oily skin: Lemongrass, witch hazel, marigold
For stimulation: Peppermint, rosemary, thyme
For relaxation: Sage, catnip, chamomile
To Use :
Combine ingredients by boiling in a glass or pan.
For 20 minutes, then cool it. Strain through a double layer of cheese cloth.
For scent just add essential oil, if needed.
Store it.
Some Other Massage Oil Recipes
- Basic Massage Oil
- 1 part avocado oil
- 2 parts sweet almond oil
- 1 part safflower oil
- 1/2 part jojoba oil
- Hervbal Massage Oil
- Infuse your favorite blend of herbs in the basic massage oil by putting in a glass container 1/4 cup of dried herbs and 1 cup of oil. Place the container in the sun or a warm location for 5-10 days. Shake daily and then strain and bottle.
- Add herbal extracts to the basic massage oil. Use a total of 50 drops of an herbal extract or blend of herbals extracts to every cup of oil.
- Massage Oil ( for the hands )
- 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
- 400 I.U. vitamin E
- 2 oz. avocado oil
- 2 oz. apricot kernel oil
- 4 drops of essential oil of lemon
- Massage Oil to Cool the Feet
- 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoon canola oil
- 3 dops of essential oil of peppermint or rosemary
