Not all stress is bad. In fact, we probably need some stress in our lives to keep us on our toes. Many activities are worth doing even if they are stressful, such as paying bills or talking out an upsetting problem. Visualization is used to change a mental or physical condition by creating a positive mental picture via the imagination. The body responds as if it were an actual experience , and profound changes can take place. Shakti states that creative visualization is the technique of using the imagination to create what you want in your life.
To use visualization as a anti-stress technique, sit down and take a few deep breaths. Imagine that you are calm, cool, and collected. This must be imagined in the here and now. (Not I will be...or I will learn to....) Imagine all the wonderful things that happen when you are not stressed out. Imagine how you relationships with people are better. Imagine your work is pleasurable. Imagine how good you feel. See yourself as a relaxed person. The brain and body lodge these as actual experiences and they can bring about authentic change.
